Magento Search & Discovery

Shoppers can't buy
what they can't find

We set up, tune and look after search on Magento 2 stores: ElasticSuite, included in Liquid Framework, or Algolia on your own plan. Typos, missing diacritics, filters and brand pages are handled, and your team keeps control of the rules.

Where searches lose orders, and what we change

  • BeforeA word typed without diacritics or with one wrong letter finds nothing

With us"patut" finds "pătuț", and a typo shows the closest matches with a short note instead of an empty page

  • Before"antene" finds nothing because the product says "antena"

With usSingular, plural and other Romanian word forms find the same products

  • BeforeNothing happens until the shopper presses Enter

With usProducts with photo and price appear as the shopper types, and typing works on Samsung and Oppo phones

  • BeforeSold-out products lead the results

With usIn the search box, in-stock products come first among equal matches; on results and category pages, boost rules you set lift in-stock or discounted products

  • BeforeFilters don't match how people shop

With usFilters with product counts, a price slider and a category tree on every results and category page

  • BeforeBrand pages are built and updated by hand

With usOne page per brand, built from your brand attribute and updated on its own

  • BeforeTrade customers see retail prices while browsing

With usLogged-in trade customers filter and sort by their own group price

  • BeforeNobody knows which searches fail

With usWe go through your search log with you: searches that found nothing become synonyms, redirects or pinned products

How it works

  • ElasticSuite, included in Liquid Framework.

It runs next to your store and serves the results page and every category page, with no fee per search.

  • Algolia, on your own plan.

Results appear as the shopper types. You sign with Algolia and pay Algolia directly; we connect it, tune it and keep it working.

  • Both together.

Most of our stores use Algolia in the search box and ElasticSuite behind it. A shopper who presses Enter without picking a suggestion lands on the full results page, where your filters and redirects apply.

  • What decides the order.

Your catalog, stock, sales and rules. The order changes when you change a rule or when products are reindexed. No shopper tracking goes into it.

Case studies

From our case studies

  • Vitacom

Before the rebuild, Catalog Search took over two hours to reindex. Search moved to OpenSearch with ElasticSuite, and PageSpeed went from 12 to 100.

  • Equitana

Algolia search, where products, categories and pages appear as the shopper types.

Part of Liquid Framework

Search runs on the same managed stack as the rest of your store, and our monitoring checks the search engine. Under our SLA, broken search or filters is a Major ticket with a 4-working-hour response.

FAQ

Questions about Magento search

ElasticSuite or Algolia: which do we need?

ElasticSuite is included in Liquid Framework and has no fee per search. Algolia adds results as the shopper types and is billed by Algolia on your own plan. Many of our stores use both: Algolia in the search box, ElasticSuite on the results and category pages.

Does search work in Romanian?

Yes. The results page ignores missing diacritics and understands Romanian word forms, so "patut" finds "pătuț" and "antene" finds "antena".

Does the search learn from what shoppers click?

Not by default. The order comes from your catalog, stock, sales and rules. Behavior-based ranking is a setup option with Algolia Personalization on your Algolia plan, and it needs cookie consent.

Can you personalize what each shopper sees?

Yes, as a paid setup. We are a certified Connectif partner: we connect Connectif to your Magento store for recommendations and messages tailored to each shopper, on site and by email, SMS, push and WhatsApp. Connectif is licensed separately, with a trial period, and we quote the integration per store. It does not change the order of search results.

What can our team change without a developer?

Synonyms, search redirects, boost rules, the order of products in a category or a search, and which filters show. It all lives in your Magento admin.

Our store isn't on Liquid Framework. Can you still help?

Yes. We set up or tune ElasticSuite or Algolia on any Magento 2 store. Start with the free search check.

How much does it cost?

On Liquid Framework, ElasticSuite and the search modules are part of the plan. For other stores we quote after the free check. Algolia bills its plan to you directly.

What if search breaks?

Under our SLA it is a Major ticket: we respond within 4 working hours.
